Simple still rules and Texty can help

Widgets have revolutionized content dissemination on the web. The idea of embedding interesting content at multiple webpages using a central base system, has some true appeal. Texty, as they call themselves, is a simple content management system (SCMS) based on a similar concept.

What is catchy and appealing about Texty? Well, for one, it is the most interesting widgetization use case. One can edit documents, webpages, blog entries, etcetera, and then host them using a javascript pull, at any number of webpages. To ease things, it even supports comments and is RSS compliant as well. Thus, the feature set it has, can be recapitulated in following four keywords , Rich Text Editor, RSS, Widget, Comments. Even with the tiny feature set, it felt very much usable and powerful.

Nicey nice talk aside, since Texty works through a javascript pull, search engines will find it tough to index it. Besides that, it is based on open source TinyMCE editor, which is also used by tons of other apps, will make it fairly easy to copy.

Anyways, still that does not stop me from using it. It will be clear with time, whether it is able to sustain the users or not.

Js-Kit is other startup that has some offerings in similar line.
