FEEDJIT shows your blog traffic live!

By Vivek | August 16th, 2007 at 12:58 pm ET

Mark Mauder and team, who have previously launched few successful as well as unsuccessful apps webapps, including Geojoey &  Linebuzz are at it again. Fresh out of the code depot is FEEDJIT that shows arrivals and departures on any page on your website. Idea is to track referrers and clicks on external links. In some ways you compare it to MyBlogLog widget that tries to build network around your readers.

On the better side, FEEDJIT requires no effort from the user to show up in the traffic feed, unlike MyBlogLog where users have to register to show up. But on the not so good side, the widget doesn’t reveal much except for location of the recent most visitor. Trick will be to deliver high volume social interaction without pain to either the readers or publishers. Let’s see if FEEDJIT team can get past the infection point this time around.

As for performance degradation watchers, Mark claims that “FEEDJIT won’t slow down your site because it draws itself after your page has loaded.”

[…] Feedjit Live Web Traffic Widget Feedjit is offering a widget that provides information about who is visiting your blog or website. An entry is posted to the widget everytime a person arrives at your website and again when the person leaves. Feedjit entries list both the webpage your visitors came from (the referring website) and where they live in the world. Feedjit also posts a little flag again to indicate what country each visitor is from. Feedjit also offers a seperate map widget that shows the locations of the last 100 visitors to your website. Feedjit says they launched less than 1 month ago and they now already serve more than 3 million widget impressions per week.
