MindTouch launches Deki Wiki; Download for free

Enterprise wiki software developer MindTouch today launched the new release of their software, which is branded as Deki Wiki “Hayes”. I had written about this upcoming launch last week.

The big feature update that MindTouch is delivering in the new release is the services-oriented extension model. This new feature enables access to external webservices way easier with an advanced permission systems to backup the security end of things.

Also with this release, MindTouch is making the download of the wiki software available for free and will charging only for technical support for those who need. Support will be available for MindTouch implementation developers for $500, while corporate customers would get the support for somewhere in the range of $5k to $10k. More details come in the next few days. From the technical standpoint, MindTouch will also be making available a VM version of the product available making the installation totally painless.
