Finally some screenshots are surfacing for Microsoft Gatineau, which is supposed to be MS’s answer to Google Analytics. I had written about Gatineau couple of times before. You can view more screenshots at Dave Naylor’s blog, who had attended the Microsoft’s adChamps briefing in London and managed to grab few screenshots while he was there.
Features that Gatineau comes out with includes(not aimed to be a comprehensive list) -
- adCenter integration
- Time on site
- Funnel reporting
- Demographic analysis including age and gender
- Multi-report dashboard
- Path reporting
- Advanced visualizations
According to Dave, one thing that Gatineau is trying to do differently is to provide demographic about your visitors which is something not done by Google Analytics. As for where all this data is coming from, Ian Thomas explains that the information comes from Live ID profiles. Obviously the data will be anonymized.
Gatineau team is still sticking to the launch date of some time late this summer, according to team member Ian Thomas. Apparently there is not much time to go before I get my hands on the free analytics tool and glean more insights about my readers.
