Frevvo - Wufoo has another startup to worry about

Earlier this week I had written about Trackvia providing web forms functionality to it’s online database app users. And the now the newest one to get discovered is Wallingford, CT based Frevvo.
I won’t go into details as to what exactly Frevvo offers, but if you are a Wufoo user, you won’t have much learning to do to get around the app. Frevvo’s site hierarchy has applications on the top, beneath which you create forms using the AJAX interface, and then embed it on your site/blog.
Frevvo’s offering is not much different as compared to Wufoo, except for few additional features that you get while creating the forms - like ability to add panels and tabs in a form. Besides that you can also add business rules, and update css right within the edit form window itself. To make form duplication and creation easier, Frevvo has enabled users to upload valid XML schema files from disk and the service auto-generates forms from the elements in your schema.
Although Frevvo doesn’t have an API right now, but it is playing the game nicely on webservices side things. Forms from Frevvo are XML aware and can be easily connected to server applications. In fact, the startup already offers a database connector which provides an easy way to integrate forms with a database. Not to forget, the connector is freely available for download and is licensed under an MIT License.
From the pricing standpoint, Frevvo is neck-n-neck with Wufoo in the lower pricing range, but does come for cheaper price if you have more than 3000 forms getting submitted per month. Of course with Trackvia, all this is non-issue, since you get unlimited space for your monthly subscription fee. Additional avenues for making money that Frevvo is looking at is via an in-house downloadable version besides the hosted version.
On the whole, Frevvo’s feature set is better in some areas but does miss out on few critical pieces - user interface, reporting on forms, user interface to view the submitted form data, and of course feature like payment integration.
