Do you see a clear leader in social networking space over mobile phone phones? As for me, NO. Accepted that most of the sites from pc world have been shrunk-fit version over mobile phones, but that doesn’t really mean it is going to be the right business model. While Twitter has taken a different approach in the recent months that has clicked with far more users than initially expected, Frengo is taking things way further with it’s announcement today. The startup has launched it’s Buzz Platform that enables spontaneous web and mobile interaction among friend circles and broader communities.
Frengo is looking to leverage the handiness of mobile phone and mashing it up on it’s one-to-many based platform that enables users to easily connect with their friends or millions of others real easily. But what really is Buzz Platform? Well, Frengo is enabling anyone to create interactive messaging channels called Buzz, and invite others to participate through a combination of easy to use web and mobile tools. So you can find yourself sharing gossip, making predictions and gathering consensus all from the convenience of your mobile phone or website.
Best part about the platform is ability to create private as well as public Buzz. Not to forget that you can create unlimited number of Buzz channels, all for free. To add to the mix, Frengo has the points angle where more ?friends? who subscribe to your Buzz channel, the more Frengo Points you earn, which can be redeemed for things like ringtones, MP3 players, digital cameras and game consoles. Sounds fun? Sure does. Maybe comes with bit more features than what you might expect from a startup, but having more doesn’t harm. Right?
