Exclusive: EditGrid gets funded

EditGrid, one of the most promising and enterprising startups in the Web20 as well as Office20 space has finally raised Series A funding. The funding round was led by WI Harper. WI Harper, which has offices in San Francisco, Beijing and Taipei, had previously invested in some of the other more promising startups including Laszlo Systems and Maxthon.
Hong Kong based EditGrid has been under development for almost 1.5 years. I have covered quite a few milestones in the EditGrid’s development life cycle and have been a user from the initial days of the startup. Some of my more favorite feature releases from EditGrid include integration with ShareMethods/Shareoffice, CentralDesktop, and Salesforce. And not to forget version history, undo, chat, Real-Time Collaboration, Remote Data, exhaustive data export options… and many more features that have not been matched in the market. With all those accomplishments under the belt, EditGrid clearly offers the best online spreadsheet experience. All this in spite of an acquisition and severe competition from Google. But these are the early days in the shaping up of Office20 landscape. Coming few years will decide who can win the market and user appeal - a gritty startup that can define the future of spreadsheets or a deep pocketed company which is giving out yet another app for free.
But hey, right now is a celebration time since now we know that EditGrid is there for us and not selling out soon
