ThinkFree junks Quick Edit Calc; Partners with EditGrid

By Vivek | June 4th, 2007 at 03:20 pm ET

From tomorrow EditGrid will have 300K more customers to serve since it is officially announcing it’s partnership with ThinkFree. With this integration Hong Kong-based EditGrid replace current spreadsheet editing app Quick Edit Calc inside ThinkFree. Best part of the deal is that it includes a revenue-sharing agreement between the two companies.

ThinkFree is not totally giving up on Edit Calc since it will keep working on and developing Power Edit Calc that is used for more complex functions and offering the highest level of compatibility with the look and feature set of Microsoft Excel.

On the whole, consolidation is finally hitting the Office20 space. ShareMethods was the first mover in the space, besides Google, to bundle and deliver best of the Office20 apps.

Up next, EditGrid with Reuters ;) ?

Oh Yeah! The handshake!
