SoundExchange has a lame new offer

By Vivek | May 22nd, 2007 at 09:40 pm ET

SoundExchange, the totally-nonsense royalty exchange manager in the world of Music, finally seems to be feeling the heat. SoundExchange today came out with a new proposal where it is planning to defer new copyright-payment rates for small Webcasters. Now don’t expect SoundExchange to suddenly transform into a nice guy ’cause this offer is only for webcasters with annual revenue of $1.25 million or less. In other words they just want to the bigger businesses to die, while also making sure no one else plans to get richer by being innovative. What a waste of time and energy. They could have been better off by doing nothing at all saved time for everyone discuss this crappy new scheme.
