Bliin streams your life live

Bliin, the Amsterdam, Netherlands based startup is upto something really interesting. Co-founded in January 2007 by Selene Kolman, Stef Kolman, and Gert Jan Leusink, who combined have wide ranging exprience from Philosophy, Visual Arts, Architecture, and Management, Bliin is building up nicely as a blogging & monitoring platform with a twist - the service is GPS enabled. The app works from both desktop and mobile phone to get you tracking, tracing and interacting with other logged-on users while sharing personal location pictures, video’s, sounds & text in real-time, everything mapped onto a Google Map.
To get started with Bliin, you need to either install the POCKETbliin, a J2ME application for mobile phones or bliinGPSXS, an application for Mac OS X or Windows. Either way you need a GPS enabled device to stream your location live. They have stuff under works for non-GPS crowd that would give those users limited functionality but still let them interact with the site.
Once you get Bliin app to connect to your GPS receiver, your current position shows up on the Globe. In other words, your location is shown live on the map, indicated via a Live icon, with your movements visible to everyone. From there on you can start sharing your experiences from your home or while on the move from your mobile phone. And each of the photographs/videos/… you share are sent immediately - in real-time - for everyone to see.
Currently Bliin is under private beta with plans to launch sometime this year. Impact to an application like Bliin on blogging can be tremendous as most of bloggers tend to discuss local news. Local news+videos combined and delivered live onto a Google Map would add another factor of dynamism to news reporting.

[…] Kakiloc does quite a few things to get your social life on mobile rolling. Once you have your network setup out there, Kakiloc delivers notifications when friends are in proximity, reminds you of important events when you get to specific areas, and discover people that knows your friends. To power all the above, Kakiloc takes on status updates via all the popular medium - your mobile phone(wap or Kakiloc mobile IM client), Jabber IM client, SMS, email, and web. Language used for sending status messages is pretty much Twitter like with the added ability to be able to set your location. And very much like Bliin, Kakiloc can you use your mobile GPS report your location in real-time so your friends can follow your complete trip along with associated information like: average speed, distance, maximum speed, etc. […]

[…] Service from Sanoodi is similar to some of the other emerging startups including Bliin. Users will be able to share their experiences with others via GPS enabled mobile phones, such as the new Nokia N95. Current user numbers for the site stand at 6925. Not a bad number given the startup offers a service which is not supported by most of the devices. […]
