Coventi - dream tool for collaborators gets better

By Vivek | May 7th, 2007 at 03:59 pm ET

Coventi, one of the best tools to emerge in the online collaboration in the recent history, just keeps getting better. I had initially written about Coventi couple of months back. At that time I had left a pointer to a bug in my screenshot. As expected, Peter@Coventi was right on it and got it fixed with few days. The new converter from Coventi performs a much better job with nested outlines when you are uploading word documents to your account.

Today Coventi added the ability to set review deadline on documents. EchoSign had nailed this feature long back for their contract management application. Getting the same functionality while collaborating on documents is what I was looking for. Besides this authors can now request approval of their Page from their group. Coventi also provides good visibility into the review process by enabling the tracking of approvals at the “People” pane. To add to the document upload and download options, last week Coventi started supporting upload of files in OpenDocument format and ability to download in PDF format.

Future - Since commenting is the winning feature at Coventi, the startup is going to enable exporting of all the comments for the documents. Another of the always wished for features that can aid in tracking your thought process when you need it.
