Comcast to stream Zimbra

By Vivek | May 6th, 2007 at 10:55 pm ET

Comcast ambitions keep getting bigger. Apart from having the biggest cable broadband play, social video sharing, movie ticket sales, planned social portal are just some of the things Comcast has been working on. The newest move is partnership with one of the most successfully independent emailing applications,  Zimbra. The partnership will deliver the highly successful AJAX platform from Zimbra, and to include - email, IM, voice mail, smart address book, and RSS feeds to Comcast’s users.

This partnership is perfect move from Comcast where it didn’t try building the solution all by itself and instead  picked the best available in the industry. And not to forget the 11.5 million new subscribers that Zimbra has got it’s hands on.

This is the second rebuff for Google in a week from Comcast. Last Comcast had partnered with Yahoo to deliver online display and video advertising services on Comcast.net.
