While the US mobile carriers just want to sleep on user demands, Orange in UK is pushing ahead in providing mobile SocialNetworking solutions to it’s users. Orange today announced that is will be licensing NewBay Software’s UGC Gateway to enable easy integration with third party mobile blogging, album and social networking sites. This will get Orange UK customers ability to instantly upload photos and video direct from their mobile to multiple social networking sites. Right now Orange is keeping mum on which SocialNetworking platforms will be enabled. Earlier Bebo had partnered with NewBay to take the social networking number 2 site mobile.
From technology perspective Newbay offers easy ability for mobile operators to hookup with social networking sites without getting involved with the APIs of social networking sites and there after having to maintain homegrown solutions that can get outdated pretty quickly.
