HP acquires web photo enhancement engine Tabblo

HP is not really know for acquisitions in the web space. Nevertheless HP today announced that is has acquired Cambridge, MA based Tabblo. The 2 year old startup offers a good mix of products that lets users get creative with their photos. Since HP’s biggest piece is printing, it will be using the Tabblo’s technology to make printing from the web easier and more convenient. Both the parties haven’t disclosed the financial terms of the transaction.

Tabblo web toolset lets users create photo Books, postcards, posters with added ability to view, comment, and share these tabblos. The service also integrated with photo sharing sites like Flickr and in process avoiding additional uploads.

OurStory and Snapjot are couple of another startups offering similar products.
