Sloog - bookmarking in virtual world

By Vivek | March 21st, 2007 at 04:37 pm ET

Okay we have enough bookmarking options in the real world. Hardly a place to innovate after del.icio.us did the bullwork more than 3 years back and even now continues to do so. So where do developers move to next? None other than Second Life. Launched couple of weeks back, Sloog lets users save favorite places and avatars both in-world with a simple plug-in (HUD) or via web browser at the Sloog site. To get started you need to go to the Mosi-Mosi offices in SL and request a copy of Sloog. From there on you can wear the Sloog HUD or place it on your UI somewhere. Bookmarks are saved via commands on the chat window. Grab those commands from Sloog site or you can access Sloog help in SL. By default bookmarks show up on the Sloog page online, but if you want you can make your bookmarks private. Now I ain’t a SLifer but Sloog does sound like a cool option.
