Grouptivity the email+group discussion mashup has got even better with new feature releases. Grouptivity has launched a new “Discuss” button for browsers that makes the process of starting a new discussion much easier. As soon as you come across interesting content on any webpage which you feel like sharing with your friends, just hit the browser “Discuss” button and Grouptivity will fetch content from the page ready to email. The big addition as part of this release is that Grouptivity not only fetches text content but also any photos and videos located on the page. Again, Grouptivity is not storing the video content on its servers, but making sure that embed codes for multitude of video-sharing sites do bring up the videos. From there on, the regular Grouptivity dialog kicks in where you can add email addresses, any additional comments to create the instant private discussion forum.
Grouptivity is also planning to work with bloggers and site owners who want to make it easier for their users to initiate instant private discussions around their content. To get the “Discuss” feature running on your site, you will have to add the Grouptivity code to your template. Grouptivity has major enhancements coming up for this feature next month that will make the “Discuss” feature a must use option on all blogs.
