GetClicky & Reinvigorate: more web analytics web20 style

GetClicky and Reinvigorate are couple of web analytics tools taking shape with an eye towards blogging market.

Reinvigorate is basically blast from the past. The service having died few years back is currently being reworked and is under private beta. Once you get the code in place, Reinvigorate starts delivering hourly/daily/…./Yearly traffic stats, browsers used, geolocation, session information, entry/exit points, and referrer information. On the whole you get to know the usual suspects.

GetClicky gives few more features as compared to Reinvigorate. You can get real-time stats as the users hit your site and also Spy (a live view) your site. Besides being able to get the stats on the site, GetClicky also delivers results via RSS. Personally I don’t think getting real-time is that important feature unless your site gets onto Slashdot or Digg frontpage very often and you want to keep an eye on traffic spike. Even otherwise Google Analytics seems to be inching towards < 1 hour reporting time, which previously used to hover around 2+ hours of delay. However there GetClicky has a paid component to the service. If you get more than 1000 pageviews per day you need to signup for the Pro plan that comes for $14.99/year.

Personally I am pretty happy with free Google Analytics service and also getting additional stats from FeedBurner. My day-to-day blogging decisions are very less dependent on analytics stats, which is currently used to track growth than anything else. Even if bloggers think of installing either of these tracking codes, a lot will depend on how much do their sites slow down as compared to when they are using Google Analytics.
