Earlier this month CozmoTV finally opened its service to beta testers that brings Youtube and other internet video content to your TiVo. Co-founded by Alex and Jason, CozmoTV is based out of San Francisco has been a long-under development service that solves a very basic problem we currently have - Users being be able to search web and TV content from one single place. The new service from CozmoTV enables you to search web+TV video content, create your own virtual TV channels, view this aggregated media from various sources on varied devices like PC, TV, TiVo, iPod, and PSP, and also provide personalized media ratings.
CozmoTV’s web interface enables search for TV content located on Youtube and other Internet video sources, and in another few days provide you with TV listing information. Powered with all these sources, you can quickly pick your favorite shows and add them to your channel list that can than be accessed through any device you want. Or to save your precious time, let the CozmoTV community work for you and grab a high rated channel from the Cosmos community. Either way you get a highly targeted content as per your tastes without the need to worry about which device you need to view it on.
CozmoTV is very much in a beta mode right now with more features being rolled out currently. TiVo remote scheduling using CozmoTV, which was available before, is offline right now but should be available in the near future. They also working on providing a larger database of shows that can searched for and more robust platform. CozmoTV is definitely a cool service to lookout for.

[…] Scouta: The Australia based startup launched its recommendation system yesterday that generates personally relevant suggestions of online audio and video, like podcasts, videocasts, online TV, video, etc. Users bookmark favorite online audio and video and Scouta aggregates these to make personalized recommendations. Basically a Last.fm for everything to anything. CozmoTV is working in similar direction on the video side. Scouta will also be releasing an iTunes plugin that will automatically bookmarks content consumed on a member’s computer, iPod, or Apple TV, and their API to extend the platform to other applications and devices. Sounds like a plan to me but lot of work is required in terms of UI, user experience, and building a dynamic community. […]

[…] Divvio joins the growing list of startups that are taking on personalization at varying levels. Last.fm has been well set leader in the music personalization space, while Google is working on web search personalization, TouchstoneLive on RSS personalization, CozmoTV has been making attempts to do the same in the video space, and Scanscout is trying to find relevancy through the spoken words in videos to deliver ads. But none of them have tried taking on music, video, and text at the same time, which just shows the enormity of task at hand. […]

[…] Orb Networks announced last week that it has integrated its media streaming application with Futarque, a set top box design company. With this integration Futarque will be able to broadcast programming and all of the personal digital media on the user’s PC directly onto the their TV. Orb’s free MyCasting application lets you stream digital content stored on your PC or content from web directly to mobile devices and other PCs. With the set-top box the content will now be delivered onto your TV. Orb application already allows users to create playlists consisting of video, audio, and photos. The setup feels more like what AppleTV is offering. However there is a major difference of being able to go beyond the standard iTunes offering and actually get Youtube content on your TV. CozmoTV had also been working on something similar but seems to have changed directions since than. […]
