Joopz launches premium web-mobile SMS service

Over the past week Joopz finally come out of the demo mode and officially launched its web-mobile SMS service. Also as part of the launch, Joopz has introduced a very cheap premium service priced at $2.99/month or $19.95/year.

I had written about Joopz few months back when Mobile-Sphere had demo’ed its product at DEMOfall. Joopz tries to bridge the growing gap between SMS handicapped and in-SMS generation. Personally I am not a big SMS text messeger and really like the ability to SMS right from my PC instead of trying to punch the tiny keys on my mobile. Besides that Joopz can connect field workers who can update their status or provide real-time updates to their colleagues sitting in front of a PC.

With the new release of premium plan Joopz has introduced complete message history, advanced contact management, and unlimited outgoing messages. Since the last time I checked, Joopz has added the ability to forward the SMS messages you receive to your cell phone, besides being on your web-account at Joopz. Non-premium plan limits the number of outgoing text-messages to 10 which is not a great option for heavy duty users.

Joopz is currently working with couple of MVNOs and media companies for further rollout of the service. Should be a good strategic option for social networking sites that can integrate Joopz into their service offerings.
