eBay has partnered with Mpire to provide insights into the movers and shakers at eBay. eBay Pop provides information about the Biggest Movers and Most Popular items in terms of sales volume at eBay. eBay Pop gives stats like trend, number of items sold, and average sale price for items in various categories including Tech Gadgets, Sports, Fashion, DVDs and CDs among others. Data for these top items is refreshed every night, which takes into account sales made in the last 2 weeks at eBay.
Drawback of the service is that it give information only for the top 10 items. These stats prove to be pretty useless in case of Tech Gadgets category where out of the top 10, 5 spots are occupied by iPod(maybe this will change after 14th November). Overall I think users need more data than just the top 10 to be able to make any meaningful decisions. Still a nice effort and a great UI.
