Wordpress launches WordPress MU 1.0

Couple of days back Wordpress launched WordPress Multi-user 1.0 which is the blog software powering Wordpress.com. WordPress MU was under development for past 1 year and is an official branch of WordPress. Using MU you can host and manage thousands of blogs which can scale to tens of millions of pageviews per day. Currently Wordpress.com itself hosts more than 400k blogs.

All the existing Wordpress features including user administration, plugin framework, themes, and Akismet work in the same way except for that it makes your life much easier.

Personally I had been waiting for this release and wanted to avoid hacking wordpress code to get things done. Great work WordPress team!
