FON offers router for free

FON, a WiFi community, is offering its state-of-the-art La Fonera wireless routers for free. If you want to get one, join the FON party this Friday, 27th October at Union Square, San Francisco.
Previously FON was offering its router for $5 as mentioned by Om Malik. Another price drop does imply that FON is finding it tough to gain traction in the US market. FON has around 100K registered users worldwide and 20,000 activated FON Access Points, with most of the users located in Europe. Earlier this year FON has attracted lot of attention when it secured $22 million funding from the likes of Google, Skype, and Sequoia.
