Although there isn’t any confirmation about the Google and Youtube deal, either company still went ahead and signed deals with major media companies.

YoutubeYoutube signed a deal with Universal in where it will make available thousands of Universal’s videos and songs to its users to create content mashups. Youtube previously had singed similar deal with the Warner Music. Youtube also signed a deal with CBS where its users will have access to CBS videos by this month. CBS will also be trying out Youtube’s new advanced content identification technology that will allow CBS to protect its intellectual property by identifying and locating copyrighted CBS content on Youtube.

Google signed deal with Warner Music to provide its users the ability to stream Warner Music video collection. The videos will be made available either in an ad-supported revenue sharing format or can be purchased online for download. Users will be able to watch and download videos from Google Video site later this month while ad-supported content will be made available in few months through the Google Adsense network. As in the Youtube-Universal deal, Google users will also be able to create content mashups from by including Warner Music content.
