iRows looking for early exit

By Vivek Puri

iRows one of the better web-based spreadsheet and collaboration software is looking for any early exit after being unable to raise cash for continuing operations. iRows was looking to generate enough cash from Google Adsense which didn’t turn to be money machine for them. Maybe pressure created by Google on various startups in the web 2.0 Office space if too much for them to survive. Even though iRows is superior product than Google Spreadsheets, it is destined to go down in vain. This is the second casualty in the web 2.0 space within a month, first being kiko (web-based calendar). Kiko got lucky after being bought on eBay for $250,000.

Other players in this area are – EditGrid.com, Google Spreadsheets, wikicalc, Zoho Spreadsheet, Jotspot Tracker, numsum.com.

Let see what’s in store for iRows. Wish the best for guys at iRows.

    Hi, Vivek,

Thanks for pointing. This news is sad. We really miss the days when both iRows and EditGrid are under active development and shipping new features frequently. It really like EditGrid and iRows were grown up together.

We will miss competing with them. iRows is really a good product and a good competitor.
